REQUIRED RENTAL DOCUMENTS

THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ARE

When collecting the vehicle, both the main driver and additional drivers must present a valid Driving Licence with a photocard and a valid Passport.

A driving licence must be presented in legible Roman letters.

An International Driving Permit (IDP) will be required if the driving licence is written in characters different to those of the renting country.
It is the drivers responsibility to ensure that they have the appropriate licence. Please check with the embassy or consulate in advance.

A credit card in the name of the main driver is required, with sufficient funds for both the security deposit and for any service or extras requested locally. The card (either credit or debit depending on the destination/supplier) must be in the full name and surname of the driver and display the 16 numbers. The PIN code will be required.

The Flexible Autos voucher is required when picking up your rental car.

If you do not present any of the required documents, the documentation is not valid or you do not have enough funds on your credit card, the car rental agent may refuse to deliver the vehicle, without refunding any amount if the supplier establishes it in its conditions.

Driving Licences must be held for a minimum of 1 day/s.

The deposit will be refunded on return, any fluctuation of currency exchange is not the responsibility of the supplier or flexible autos.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Applicable to all rentals. Credit cards must be valid for a minimum of 1 month from the final day of hire.

Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.

*Visa, Mastercard Debit cards are accepted however a higher security deposit will be payable.

TAXES

Unless otherwise indicated all costs indicated in these terms and conditions are subject to local taxes and fees.

The CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and TP (Theft Protection) have an insurance excess.

FUEL POLICY

THE FUEL POLICY IS

Cars will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full. Otherwise the client will be charged for missing fuel, plus a refuelling charge.
It’s important the customer refuels within 10 kilometers from the drop-off point and keep the fuel station ticket.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

ADDITIONAL DRIVER REQUIRMENTS ARE

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements, accompany the main driver when picking the rental car up and sign the rental agreement.

There is an additional driver charge of 5.50 AUD plus Vat per day, per additional driver.


DRIVING RESTRICTIONS

GENERAL RESTRICTIONS ARE

Parts of Australia are NOT suitable for access by rental vehicles.
To prevent Damage to the Vehicle and for your own personal safety SIXT strictly enforce conditions that restrict use of the Vehicle in such areas.
Unless SIXT has given prior written consent, the customer must NEVER take the Vehicle:

(a) on any Unsealed Road unless it is a four wheel drive (4WD) vehicle which has a transfer case with an independent Low range and Hi range gearing capability and all terrain tyres as confirmed by the Hiring Location;

(b) in any area above the snow line, where snow chains are required unless You have purchased Snow Pass;

(c) Off Road;

(d) between mainland Australia and Tasmania in either direction;

(e) across state borders into or out of the Northern Territory or Western Australia, (except between the Northern Territory and the Kununurra, Kimberley and Broome regions of Western Australia) and

(f) into or out of Weipa (Queensland);

(g) onto any island with the exception of:
- Kangaroo Island;
- Stradbroke Island;
- Magnetic Island;
- Bribie Island;
- Phillip Island; or
- Bruny Island,

(h) through any river, stream, creek or tidal crossing;

(i) through flood waters or on flood prone roads or on any road where the state or condition of the road make the use of the Vehicle unsafe;

(j) on any road where the police or any government or statutory authority has issued a warning, caution or which has been closed;

(k) onto any road or region where We have notified You that the use of the Vehicle is prohibited;

(l) in the Kakadu region: Jim Jim and Twin Falls;

(m) in the Katherine region: Central Arnhem Road to Gove beyond Bulman;

(n) in the Broome region:

- on Cable Beach; or
- on any other beach in the region; or
- on any roads south of Eighty Mile Beach when renting from Hiring Locations in the Northern Territory, Broome WA or Kimberley Region WA;

(o) in the Kimberley region:
- Mitchell Plateau;
- Kalumburu;
- Kalumburu Road north of Drysdale River Station;
- on the Canning Stock Route;
- on the Tanami Track; or
- outside any town or city limits between Sunset and Sunrise;

(p) in CENTRAL AUSTRALIA:
- on the Tanami Track west of Rabbit Flat;
- on the Gunbarrell Highway;
- on the Canning Stock Route;
- on the Donahue Highway;
- on the Strzelecki Track;
- on the Oodnadatta Track, subject to prior approval by Us upon receipt of evidence to travel this route accompanied by another vehicle; or
- on the Birdsville Track, subject to prior approval by Us upon receipt of evidence to travel this route accompanied by another vehicle;

(q) onto any Aboriginal Land which require a permit, unless Sixt have given prior written approval upon submission of a valid entry permit - any entry to Aboriginal Land without a permit is illegal;

(r) in QUEENSLAND:
- on the Gulf Developmental Road;
- on the Telegraph Track;
- on the Peninsula Developmental Road between Lakeland and Coen;
- on the Peninsula Developmental Road between Bramwell Station and Bamaga;
- on the Bloomfield Track (the Coast Road, or Cape Tribulation-Bloomfield Road) between Cape Tribulation and Cooktown; or
- on Burke Developmental Road between Chilagoe and Normanton;

(s) in NORTHERN TERRITORY:
- outside any town or city limits between Sunset and Sunrise with the exception of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park; or
- in any other remote area specified by Sixt upon entry into the Rental Agreement between Sunset or Sunrise. .

Travel in the following areas and routes is subject to seasonal road conditions and permission must be expressly given by Us prior to travel:

(a) in the NORTHERN TERRITORY:
- on Larapinta Drive or Namatjira Drive, also known as the Mereenie Loop Road; and (ii) on the Tanami Road, east of Rabbit Flat;

(b) in WESTERN AUSTRALIA:
- on the Spring Creek Track, (the access road to the Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles));
- on the Gibb River Road, and all unsealed roads adjacent to this road;
- on the Fairfield-Leopold Downs Road, and all unsealed roads adjacent to this road; and
- on the Duncan Highway, and all unsealed roads adjacent to this road;

(c) in QUEENSLAND:
- on the Cape York Peninsula;

and even if SIXT have granted you permission to travel in these areas and routes and you have purchased Additional Damage Protection, the standard DRF and SVAF (as specified in the Rental Details Document) amount will apply on a non-reducible basis in the event of any Damage being occasioned in these areas.


GRACE PERIOD

THE GRACE PERIOD IS

The supplier establishes a grace period of 29 minutes from the indicated time in the reservation.

If the rental vehicle is NOT returned after the expected time, inclusive of the suppliers grace period. A full days rental will be charged to the customer.

IMPORTANT:
The client must scrupulously comply with the delivery and return times indicated in their reservation and on their voucher.
Although the number of rental days as well as their price are calculated based on 24-hour periods, some providers charge penalties or even additional days from the exact return time that appears in the reservation, without taking into account the period of 24 hours.
Flexible Autos will not make any refund / compensation for this reason.

CANCELLATIONS AND NO SHOWS

CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICIES AND FEES

Cancellation policy and fees: Cancellations are generally free of charge up to 48hrs prior to collection. If your reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of your collection time, charges may apply. Please contact the Flexible Autos call centre to confirm any possible charges.
No show policy and fees: The booking will be considered a ''''No Show'''' for a number of reasons, but not limited to: failure to collect your rental car at the agreed booked time, if the main driver and any named drivers are unable to present the requested documentation, failure to present a valid driver’s licence, failure to provide a credit card with enough credit for the deposit, or are found to be incapable of driving the vehicle through, alcohol or drugs. A 100% cancellation fee will apply unless otherwise stated. No refunds are payable on cars returned early.


SUPPLIER/ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE INFORMATION

In case of a breakdown customers must stay with the car and contact the rental office for assistance. Telephone numbers are on the rental paperwork, please confirm at the time of pick-up of the rental vehicle.

In case of an accident, the customer must remain with the vehicle, and complete a police report at the time of the incident.

In case of theft of the vehicle or vehicle equipment customers must contact the rental office and make a report to the police.

Roadside assistance charges are charged for accidents, and issued caused by the driver, such as, but not limited to, wrong fuel, broken or lost keys, punctured and or damaged tyres.

Additional roadside protection is available, and is an extended breakdown protection during the rental. The cover protects you at home and abroad against high service and repair costs for the following incidents caused by you: key locked in vehicle, breaking caused by lack of fuel, assistance with starting necessitated by flat battery. Daily fee 6.60 AUD


EXTRA INFORMATION AND COSTS

ADDITIONAL CLEANING SERVICES

The customer is required to return the vehicle washed inside and out.

TOLL CHARGES

All our vehicles are equipped with an electronic toll device (e-Tag). This service allows automatic payment of all fees due for passing through any electronic toll barrier. Toll expenses will be automatically paid in your credit card without any additional cost.

RENTAL EXTENSION

Extensions of your rental period is only available on a pay locally basis.

DELAYED OR DIVERTED FLIGHTS

Reservations will be held for 1 hour(s) from the specified reservation, during the business open hours time, after which they will be classed as a no-show. If a customer arrives after this time then a vehicle is not assured. We will do everything possible to provide a vehicle. This may include offering a different vehicle and rates may be different to the original booking. Flight numbers provided are for informational purposes only. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform the location of any delays

Please read the Terms and Conditions of your vehicle hire carefully before signing for the rental vehicle.

Please note, not all supplier excess waivers cover the following, unless otherwise stated in the excess waiver packages: damage to wheels, tyres, hubcaps, locks, windows, side and rear-view mirrors, undercarriage of the vehicle, suspension, damage to clutch, damage to exterior paintwork. Any damage and loss incurred not arising from general use.

If there is an option extra and service you do not want, you must ask for the removal of the item before signing the contract. Any option extra and service that is accepted with the customer’s signature will be charged to your credit card and Flexible Autos you will not be able to reimburse it later.

DRIVER NEGLIGENCE

Driver negligence''s and deliberate damage/loss, are not covered by the suppliers insurance waivers, and will incur additional costs and administration charges, if the customer has been found to have acted against the terms and conditions of the rental agreement:

Dropping the rental vehicle off at a supplier office, other than agreed in the rental agreement.

Abandoning the vehicle.

All costs derived from the use of the incorrect and/or lack of petrol.

The supplier is not to be held liable for items stolen, forgotten or lost inside the vehicle. It is recommended having these items covered through personal travel cover.

The loss/damage of the vehicle documents and/or keys.

It is not permitted to remove the vehicles seats.

If the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and/or found using their cellular phone at the time of the accident.

Driving the vehicle when tired and not feeling well.

The use not permitted includes and is not limited to the following cases mentioned by way of example: Pushing or towing another vehicle.

Driving in areas not suited to public transport, such as beaches, race tracks, forestry roads, back roads, dirt roads and very poorly paved roads that could cause damage to the underside of the vehicle.

Driving the vehicle in restricted areas, and more specifically on airport roads and other roads for aeronautical and/or military use.

Negligent behaviour when the vehicle’s indicators show an alert that customer’s state are known to them when they sign the agreement.

Transport of goods or animals and, in particular, substances that are hazardous, inflammable and/or poisonous for the vehicle and its occupants.

The transport of individuals or goods for which the customers receive direct or indirect payment.

Using the vehicle for unlawful activities, reckless driving, sub-leasing the vehicle, giving driving lesson, or teaching special driving technics.

Transporting a number of passengers and amount of luggage not authorised for the vehicle concerned.

Manipulation of the speedometer. Customers must report any malfunction of the speedometer to the supplier immediately.

Transport of luggage or any other item on the vehicle’s roof, even when an adequate luggage rack is used for the purpose.

Damage to the vehicle caused by leaving tempting items in plain sight inside the vehicle.

Dirtying the inside of the vehicle beyond what would be expected from reasonable and careful use.

Driving against the traffic regulations.

The vehicle is driven by a person who is not authorised to do so in the agreement, as either a customer and/or a supplementary driver.

Continued use of the vehicle after the rental period has ended.

The terms and conditions presented in the rental voucher are reviewed and updated by the supplier on a regular basis. Flexible cars are not responsible for the updates if made after the booking has been made.
